FRANK AND REGINA'S JOURNEY INTO PARENTHOOD THROUGH ADOPTION
This site chronicles our experience of adopting a child from Aqtobe, Kazakhstan. We never thought we would want children, but we've learned to never say never! To start at the beginning click on "May 2007" in the blog archive and scroll to the bottom. Our two trips occurred in May and July 2008. We live in Charleston, SC, and can be contacted at regina(at)ruopoli.com. Enjoy!

Wow, interesting. I would have thought Kaz would be more. But I suppose that 2 months in country might deter most.
Yeah I would have thought that Kaz would be more too! Go figure!
That is really interesting. It is getting more difficult, just from the time I started with Kaz, in May, in just 7 months its changed a lot-more delays, more bureucracy. But, anything that's worth having is not easy, adoption being one of them. And, thank goodness we have each other. :)
Great article - thanks for posting it!
Yeah, I saw that too (I love RK- I check it first thing at the beginning of each month). It makes me very afraid as I still hold out hope that #2 and #3 will come from Kaz. Not if the costs keep going up, and the wait keeps going up though. Makes me sad.
Very good article, thanks for sharing. Looks like a lot of changes are going on and more and more waiting time should be expected. We can not believe anything until our child is home. When we started our adoption december 2006, they told us at least 6 months....
The fluid nature of international adoption is vividly expressed here... and it's kind of scary;-) I'm just hoping we're all far enough into it go just bring our children home! It's interesting, I met a woman while shopping for baby clothes a while back who told me about 30 years ago she and her husband were researching adoption from Japan and that's not even on the map now. So those that close must make room for others to open. But since our children are in Kazakhstan that's where we will go!
Shannon (HOPEFUL mommy to Kazarina, which would be a silly nickname if she were not from Kazakhstan. So, Kazakhstan it is!).
