I wanted to recap our parameters so you guys don't have to go digging through our posts to be reminded. We are looking for a boy or a girl, from age 6 months to 2 years, of any ethnicity, and we’re open minor correctable medical needs. (The only thing that has changed is the age range, which has gone from 1 to 2.)
Also, I thought it would be fun to have a little CONTEST to guess our child’s birthdate! Please submit a guess by either posting a comment or e-mailing me by the end of April. Whoever guesses the date, or gets the closest to it will receive a copy of a Vintage Velvet CD (our jazz band) which was recorded last year. For more info click here or here. If you’re not into jazz, or you already have one, we will send you any CD of your choice – just name it!
Frank and were both July babies, and we're only 4 days apart. In fact, we will both turn 40 this year! I used to think we would do something really crazy, daring and fun for our 40th (we had a big Thirtypalooza party for our 30th.) It's interesting how that milestone seems so unimportant now compared with the milestone of becoming parents. But hey, THAT'S what I call crazy, daring and fun!

My guess is September 29 and I will be happy with a Vintage Velvet CD, I love jazz and your voice is beautiful. I checked the site many months ago :).

My guess is Nov. 18. I am getting a strong Scorpio vibe for some reason ~ very active, athletic, strong-willed and tender-hearted little boy is what I see in story for the Ruopoli dynamic duo!

My guess is Habibi was born on January 14th 2007. You two summer babies need a winter baby to balance you out in terms of birthday cake celebration :-)

Hello? Crazy, daring and fun! What do you call traveling 1/2 way across the world just as you come close to turning 40 and adopting a baby??? That is definitely crazy, daring and fun!
In fact, I'd say in retrospect, it describes the experience PERFECTLY!!!

I was going to guess Nigel's b-day (May 26,) but then I thought, hmm.. I bet the winters in Kaz are really cold, and the nights are long, so I will go with Sept. 17, my birthday.

Ok you two trust me living in Kaz for 5-8 weeks is much more daring than sky diving. Don't get me wrong we loved every minute but it is an experience like no other.
You are not the only ones to turn the big 40 in Kaz. Marc and our travel partner Kristi Metz did too. The funniest thing is we found the "adult store" to buy gag gifts. If you want a true experience have your translator take you to the room behind the velvet drape in the sum store. It was too funny and an experience like no other.
As for the birthday I am going with Rhys' 3/9/06. Brillant kids are born in March. If we win we don't want a CD we want a live show. What Lola wants Lola gets.

I agree with the other commenters that adopting a child is probably one of the craziest things to do to mark a (dual) milestone in your lives. And, as you mentioned in your blog heading, you never thought you'd be doing this!
Let's see, I'm going to guess February 1st. I think Aquarius can be very creative with a wacky sense of humor - a child that would fit very well in your family!
My Kaz-sweetie is a September 10th girl..so my vote is 9/10/06! A great day, in my books!

Well, I have a conflict between my palm-reader side, and my engineer side.
My Engineer side is doing the logical connection. To have you both as parents Habib must be a really lucky fellow. Therefore he must have been born just before july so his birthday falls when the Ruopolli's bday present budget is its fullest.

But since I'm from the southern hemisphere where June is winter, I might have made a mistake. So I'm gonna guess Thursday June 15 on the most beautiful sunny-yet-not-too-hot day of June =)
I am guessing March 27, 2007. That is the date of Berik's birthday only in 2006. That date was good enough to win me a pizza from Suz and Matt from Florida so maybe I could win again? The CD is cool and probably if I don't win one I would just buy it! I listened to the preview last year I just didn't get around to ordering it. Hmmm wonder what's keeping me busy?
